Ted Lasso Season 5 Hopes Rise By Eddy Cue Comments

Ted Lasso may have more life ahead of it after its return for a fourth season. While Apple hasn’t officially announced Season 5, executive producer Eddy Cue has expressed optimism about continuing the hit comedy.

Ted Lasso, dressed in team colors, gestures enthusiastically on the pitch, embodying his motivational spirit in Season 5.

The series originally appeared set to finish after three seasons. However, Apple revived the show for Season 4, opening the door to a longer future for one of its best-known originals.

Jason Sudeikis Wants More Ted Lasso

Jason Sudeikis, who stars as Ted and helped produce the show, has said he’d like to see the story continue.. The paper reports that Sudeikis has made public comments about his desire for two more seasons and has also discussed the return of the writing team.

Apple’s Eddy Cue has also added to the speculation. He said he would like to see the show continue, pointing out that there are still plenty of stories the series could tell.

For now, though, Apple hasn’t officially renewed Ted Lasso for a fifth or sixth season. So while the comments are encouraging for fans, they shouldn’t be taken as confirmation that new seasons are on the way.

Multi-Season Planning Could Help the Show Continue

The way streaming companies order television shows may also strengthen the chances of another season. According to the document, platforms often secure multiple seasons early while publicly announcing only one at first.

This strategy can reduce production risks and help studios retain actors, writers, directors and producers. Moreover, securing talent early can prevent costs from rising sharply after a series becomes successful.

In Ted Lasso’s case, another detail adds weight to the speculation. The document cites a 2025 report claiming that cast and crew members signed a new three-year agreement with Apple.

Season 5 Remains Possible, Not Confirmed

For now, viewers have no official Season 5 announcement. Yet the combination of Sudeikis’ ambitions, Cue’s enthusiasm and reported longer-term contracts creates a strong foundation for more episodes.

The comedy has already returned after once appearing finished for good. Consequently, another extension would no longer seem surprising. Until Apple makes an announcement, however, Ted Lasso Season 5 remains an encouraging possibility rather than a confirmed reality.
